Shwedagon Pagoda is the most popular and well-known pagoda in Yangon. The pagoda is one of the main tourist destinations in Myanmar. Located at No.1. Shwedagon Pagoda Road. Dagon Township. in Yangon. this pagoda is the most notable building in Yangon. The Shwedagon Pagoda is a great cone-shaped Buddhist monument that crowns a hill about one mile north of the Cantonment. The pagoda itself is a solid brick stupa (Buddhist reliquary) that is completely covered with gold. It rises 326 feet (99 m) on a hill 168 feet (51 m) above the city.
National Races Village Park
National races village was constructed by Ministry of Progress of Border Areas and National Races and Development Affairs is situated in Tharketa Township. on the left of Yangon-Thanlyin Bridge.If you visit the village. you will not only enjoy fresh breeze blowing across Bago River but also get the sense of Union Spirit from the village of our national brethern. Kachin. Kayah. Kayin. Chin. Bamar. Mon. Rakhine and Shan. You can see buildings with significant symbols denoting various national races residing in the country.
Naypyidaw Water Fountain Garden
It is situated near the Naypyidaw City Hall with a steel structure arch-way. Also included in the garden are a main pond with three fountains inside and 11 small ponds with 13 different fountains inside, a 30-foot (9.1 m) high clock tower, nine recreation centres, two small gardens, two stone gardens and ten feet wide buggy road and footpaths. The garden was set up near the Naypyidaw-Taungnyo Road.
National Herbal Park
It is located near the Naypyidaw-Taungnyo Road in Naypyidaw, Myanmar. Over 20,000 herbal and medicinal plants, representing over 700 species from the various states and divisions of Myanmar, are grown in the park. The herbal park is part of the government’s efforts to protect and preserve the herbs from depletion and extinction and to keep alive the country’s traditional system of medicines.
People’s Park is located near the Western stairways of Shwedagon Pagoda. This park occupies over 130 acres between Shwedagon Pagoda and the Parliament building. There is a small museum exhibiting life-size models of nationalities in their colourful dress and flora and fauna. The Restaurant serves Myanmar and European Food. The park is usually crowded during the weekends when families come for relaxation.
